YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Assessment information: the answers you select, your progress, and the snapshots or reports created from those answers.
- Contact information: your first name and email when you choose to save them, request a result email, buy a product, or contact us.
- Purchase information: the product, amount, currency, payment status, transaction identifiers, and purchaser email. Stripe processes card details; OwnWithin does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information: a random session identifier stored in your browser, access-token records, and routine server information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, and error or security logs.
- Communication records: messages you send and records showing whether a requested transactional email was sent.
How we use information
We use personal information to save progress, calculate results using defined scoring rules, deliver purchased reports and ebooks, send requested access links, provide support, prevent misuse, maintain security, process refunds, keep required business records, and improve reliability. Assessment scores come from defined rules, not from AI deciding what kind of person you are.
Consent and optional email
You can complete the free Quick Profile without an account. Providing an email after the snapshot is optional unless it is needed for a purchase or delivery. Transactional emails relate to a request or purchase. Promotional email requires separate consent, which you may withdraw.
Service providers and disclosure
We use service providers to operate the site, process payments, host data, and deliver email. These currently include Stripe and Resend, together with the site’s hosting and database providers. They receive only the information needed for their work and may process it in other jurisdictions. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or during a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention
- Assessment sessions, answers, and results are retained while needed to let you return and to operate the service. You may request deletion at any time.
- Private assessment links expire after 30 days. Ebook access links expire after 90 days. Related security records may remain long enough to prevent misuse and document delivery.
- Purchase, refund, and accounting records may be retained for at least six years after the end of the tax year to which they relate, or longer when legally required.
- Support and email-delivery records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, document consent or delivery, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you. Email hello@ownwithin.com with the subject “Privacy request” from the address connected to your profile or purchase, and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity. We will delete or de-identify information that is no longer required, but may retain transaction or legal records that we must keep.
Cookies and browser storage
OwnWithin currently uses browser storage and strictly necessary technologies to remember a random assessment session and keep the site working. We do not currently use non-essential advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. Because non-essential tracking is not active, the site does not currently display a cookie-consent banner. If analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking is added, this policy will be updated and consent controls will be added before those technologies are activated where required.
Safeguards and age
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including restricted access and private, time-limited links. No online system is completely secure. OwnWithin is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us if they believe a child submitted personal information.
